Hey y’all! Happy October! I cannot believe how fast this year is zooming by! It feels like yesterday we were just being told that we had to go on a mandatory lockdown as a country. LOL. How have y’all been? What’s been up? What’s new? I’d love to know in the comments. Anyway, it’s #scorpioseason so it’s definitely time to get lit!

It’s officially my birthday month! I will be 25-years-old on the 31st and I’m in such awe. I literally remember being a teenager and thinking 25-year-olds had it all figured out and were so grown, etc. Boy, was I wrong or was I wrong? Haha! I mean, I have an idea of how this thing called my life is going to go, but I’ve learned that you have to just go with the flow. Nothing ever goes completely as planned. And that is okay.

Ever since I can remember, I never celebrated my birthday much. Since 18, I would go to school or work as usual and then take Drew trick or treating for candy. But something about this year makes me want to do something big and dramatic for my birthday. Maybe it’s because I’ll be 25. Maybe it’s because I never really do anything. I don’t know, but I feel the dramatics brewing in me. Lol. I told Jalon that this year for my birthday, I do not want to do anything with the kids. I want to go and do something that I enjoy without having to be responsible for little people. Since his birthday is also in October, a week before mine, we decided that we would do something together. We set an appointment to get tattooed!!

We both already have tattoos, but we decided to get matching ones. Lol, is that corny? Hey, Jay and Bey did it so why can’t we? We don’t get out for dates often, so we also decided to make reservations for a fancy dinner with just the two of us. I’m super excited about that! I can’t even tell you the last time that he and I went out to dinner by ourselves. That’s the thing about being a parent—you never have off days. It’s a 24/7-365 type of job. So when we get a sitter and the time to go out alone, we take full advantage. This year has been a rollercoaster, but I’m glad that we are making it through. Like I’m always telling you guys, I’ve grown so much and I literally cannot believe that I am becoming the girl I used to dream about. I‘m excited to see what 25 will bring and I’m thankful to God that I’ve even made it this far.

Leave me some suggestions of other things that Jalon and I could do to celebrate our 25th birthday. If any of you have an October birthday—HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU! As always, I appreciate your support. Be sure to head over to the “journal questionnaire“ tab to customize your very own journal. Have a great week, and I’ll check in with you guys later this month.

Love,

Kat💕
